This traditional, mild cheese made with cow's milk is
of Danish origin and has a moist, yellowish exterior
and can come with or without a rind and has irregular
holes throughout.
Havarti has a strong buttery aroma and a fairly full flavoured, creamy and slightly acidic flavour. As the Havarti ages, it develops a sharp, sour taste.
Havarti is best used as a table cheese, for slicing,
grilling, or as a snack. It melts best when shredded.
You can add it to all your favorite dishes, from sandwiches to salads, in pasta, rice, vegetable, or legume dishes. Also try pairing Havarti with red grapes, pears, roasted red peppers, olives, almonds, rye bread or bread sticks, crackers, or raw vegetables.
Try Havarti with lesser-oaked Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, light-bodied Pinot Noir wines or sparkling water.
Available in regular, light, herb & spice, tomato &
basil, jalapeno, and dill flavours. Available in whole,
sliced or wedge form.
